Galangal Spice Gingers, cousin to ginger, is also known as Thai Ginger / Siamese Ginger.  Commonly found in Thai, Indonesian and Malaysian Cooking.

Cooking Spice Galangal Spice Gingers are mildly spicy and just a tad sweet. 

These very easy-to-grow plants require little care. They add a wonderful accent to any outdoor space, garden or patio. In very cold zones a containerized ginger can be brought inside for the winter months. Most will survive a very light frost and quickly return to normal in spring.
